OCEAN

One specific area of focus is the Ocean.

We strive to make films that are conscious of what is critically important in our world right now: valueing our beautiful planet and reconnecting with the wild, ourselves and our spiritual nature. We want to make films that not only shine a light on issues, but also present alternatives; utopias, abundance, and balance.

The ocean is hereby a vivid area of concern. We believe whales and dolphins need our help. The ocean needs our help--

Overfishing, plastic crisis, deep sea mining, and sonar experiments… to name a few of the issues. A couple of facts:

”The ocean is like the lungs of the earth: it is the largest absorber of CO2 emissions. Plus, more than half of our oxygen comes from the Ocean.”

”When whales and dolphins return to the surface to breathe, they fertilise the seaweed Phytoplankton, which absorbs FOUR TIMES as much CO2 as the rainforest every year. The plant generates 85% of the world's oxygen.“

If whales and dolphins die, we die. Whales and dolphins are still being hunted and killed despite global laws.

What if we really identified ourselves as custodians of our planet? None of this would occur. It seems so obvious. Yet, we keep on depleting it.

So: We want to use the power of storytelling

  • to shine a light on these issues

  • to illuminate the value of our ocean

  • to depict the incredible gift and mystery that it is

“The power lies in that the best arguments in the world might not change a single person’s mind. The only thing that can do that is a good story.”

This is a personal matter for the team behind Unicorn.

We want to contribute to make human, animal and nature feel whole again.
